Abstract
En hermetisk avtettet modul (200) for å plasseres i en ytre trykkbestandig beholder (110) oppretter beskyttelse mot ytre trykk i undersjøiske omgivelser. Den hermetisk avtettede modul (200) omfatter minst én optisk forsterker og et hermetisk avtettet hylster for å inneholde denne optiske forsterker. Hylsteret har et fastholdingselement for å holde fast hylsteret inne i den ytre trykkbestandige beholder. Modulen omfatter også flere portåpninger for å føre inn i hylsteret, og da på hermetisk avtettet måte, minst én optisk fiber og en leder som inngår i en undersjøisk optisk fiberkabel. Lederen tilfører elektrisk effekt til en optisk forsterker. Minst én ledende avslutningsterminal befinner seg i hylsteret for å kunne opprette elektrisk kontakt med en leder som er ført gjennom hver av de flere portåpninger. Denne ledende terminal tilføres elektrisk effekt fra lederen frem til den optiske forsterker.
