Abstract

Each of the receivers has a memory for detecting the vibration in the seabed and has a switch for activating the memory. An ROV (20) is used to unload the receivers from the transport container (15) and to place each receiver (R) on the seabed (17) and along the measuring line. In one embodiment, the receivers comprise a frame, a pressure tank for housing the memory and the remotely activated controls, and a geophone planted separately in the seabed at a relatively short distance from the frame.
