Abstract

The rotary impeller (5) is fixed to an extended vertical drive shaft (4) in bearings. It is immersed directly into the liquid in the treatment tank (1). Depending on the type of treatment required, a whirlpool-breaking disc (3) may be located on the shaft below the liquid level (13) and above the rotor. This prevents formation of a whirlpool with air induction. Rotor location on the shaft, positions the inlet (7) to the suction side of its flow channels (6), below the layer of the bed of fluidization spheres (12). The unit treats heterogeneous fluid with or without gas (especially air) supply, in a treatment tank. When a gas is supplied, the whirlpool breaker is absent. Rotor flow channel cross section gradually enlarges from entry to outlet (9). Outlet opening diameter is three times that of the fluidization spheres. Variants based on the foregoing are described. ELECTRONICS - The shaft is electric motor driven, at controlled speed, through a gear (14). Drive is intermittent or continuous.
