Abstract

A sub-gingival medicament applicator (10) comprising an aerosol container (10) having a gingival medicament filling (14) and a nitrogen propellant (16). A wand is secured to the container (12) and has an end portion extending angularly to the rest thereof. The wand (26) has a passageway therethrough. A valve (18), provided with an actuator (20), is provided for controlling fluid flow through a passageway (24) in the wand (26) to permit application of the medicament through the end piece (30) onto the gums of the user in a manner for optimum benefit.

Claims

1. Medication applicator for the lower gums comprising an aerosol container (12) filled with a medication (14) for the gums, and a non-toxic propellant (16), the container (12) having a discharge opening (22) and a valve (18) to regulate the fluid flow through the opening (22), CHARACTERIZED BY an actuator (20) on the container (12) for the valve (18), and a rod (26) attached to the container (12) in line with the opening (22), the rod (26) has a flexible end piece (30) with an outlet mouth (36) and a channel (24, 28) through it from the opening (22) to the mouth (36).

2. Applicator according to claim 1, CHARACTERIZED IN THAT the container (12) is adapted to the user's hand, so that the actuator (20) can be grasped by the user's thumb.

7. Applicator according to claim 4, CHARACTERIZED IN THAT the channel (28) in the shaft (32) tapers in a direction away from the container (12).

8. Applicator according to claim 1, CHARACTERIZED IN THAT the propellant is nitrogen.

9. Applicator according to claim 1, CHARACTERIZED IN THAT the rod (26) is removably attached to the container (12).
