Description
Foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrører vannholdige sure blandinger som er tyknet med et polysakkarid. Oppfinnelsen vedrører særlig sure blandinger for rensing av overflater. Disse og andre trekk ved oppfinnelsen fremgår av patentkravene.
Det er vanlig å anvende vannholdige sure blandinger for å fjerne mineralavsetninger og organiske stoffer som er festet til overflater. Mineralavsetningene omfatter generelt forbin-delser som karbonater, sulfater og metalloksyder av kalsium, magnesium, kalium og jern. Blandinger som er basert på salt-syre eller maursyre anvendes vanligvis ved rensing av porse-lenoverflater og blandinger som inneholder fosforsyre er
vanligvis kjent i forbindelse med fjerning av rust fra metalloverflater. Fordelaktig tyknes de flytende rensemiddelblandingene ved hjelp av et tykningsmiddel, for at produktet skal kunne påføres på skrå flater eller på flater med uregel-messig form uten at noe av blandingen renner av, for å til-late at syren og overflaten som skal renses er i kontakt med hverandre i en tilstrekkelig tidsperiode.
Anvendelse av et tykningsmiddel med newtonske egenskaper i en vandig løsning er lite tilfredsstillende fordi løsningen alltid har en tendens til å renne utover selv om tyknings-midlet er tilstede i relativt store mengder. Renseblandinger som er ikke-newtonske og som inneholder et tykningsmiddel som xantangummi er allerede blitt foreslått tidligere, se f. eks US patent nr 3.578.499 og EPO patentsøknad nr 0091.194. Selv om xantangummi blir betraktet til å være noenlunde stabil ved basisk pH, hydrolyseres den imidlertid i nærvær av en syre, noe som resulterer i nedsatt viskositet og flytgrense. Blandingene kan derfor ikke. lagres over lengre tid uten tap av deres flytegenskaper.
Også US patent nr 4.302.253 vedrører rensemiddelblandinger som omfatter en mineralsyreløsning som er tyknet med leire, xantangummi og et imidazolin. Imidazolinet virker som et antiflokkuleringsmiddel overfor leiren. Disse blandingene holder seg stabile i flere måneder, men er ufordelaktige når det gjelder pris.
I praksis ønsker man vannholdige sure blandinger til lav produksjonspris, og som både har en ønsket viskositet, en høy flytgrense og nødvendig stabilitet ved lagring.
Den foreliggende oppfinnelse vedrører således vannholdige sure blandinger som er tyknet ved hjelp av et polysakkarid og som er karakterisert ved at de omfatter en vandig løsning, en organisk syre med en dissosiasjonskonstant pK som er større eller lik 2 ved 25°C og minst ett salt av en organisk syre eller en mineralsyre med en pK-verdi større eller lik 2 og en sterk base.
Polysakkaridet som som anvendes som tykningsmiddel kan velges fra gruppen omfattende naturgummier, modifiserte naturgummier og biosyntetiske gummier. Betegnelsen omfatter alle polysakkarider og deres derivater som, når de løses i vann, sveller idet man oppnår høyviskøse geler eller løsninger. Eksempler på naturgummier og modifiserte naturgummier omfatter guargummi, carob-gummi, karragenater, alginater som natriumalginat og propylenglykolalginat, cellulosederivater som karboksymetylcelluloser, hydroksyalkylcelluloser og heksametylcelluloser. Biosyntetiske gummier eller biogummier er polysakkarider med høy molekylvekt, oppnådd ved fermentering av et karbohydrat ved hjelp av passende mikroorganismer. Disse mikroorganismene kan være bakterier slik som beskrevet i BERGEY'S MANUAL OF DETERMINATIVE BACTERIOLOGY (8. utgave 1974 - Williams N. Wilkins C° Baltimore) f. eks bakteriene som tilhører slekten Xanthomonas og spesielt artene Xanthomonas begoniae, Xanthomonas campestris, Xanthomonas carotae. Xanthomonas hedera, Xanthomonas incanae, Xanthomonas malva-cearum, Xanthomonas papaveri cola, Xanthomonas phaseoli, Xanthomonas pisi, Xanthomonas vasculorum, Xanthomonas verica-toria, Xanthomonas vitians, Xanthomonas pelargonii, bakteriene fra slekten Arthrobacter og særlig artene Arthrobacter stabilis, Arthrobacter viscosus, slekten Erwinia, slekten Azotobacter og særlig arten Azotobacter indicus, slekten Agrobacterium og særlig artene Agrobacterium radiobacter, Agrobacterium rhizogenes, Agrobacterium tumefaciens, eller sopp som tilhører slekten Sclerotium og spesielt artene Sclerotium glucanicum, Sclerotium Rolfsii osv.
Alle de ovennevnte gummier har pseudoplastisk opptreden i en vandig løsning.
Foretrukket velges hetereopolysakkaridet som kalles xantangummi og som er oppnådd ved fermentering av et karbohydrat ved hjelp av en kultur av X. campestris. Xantangummi er kommersielt tilgjengelig. Fremstillingen er beskrevet i en rekke publikasjoner. Man kan f. eks nevnte US patent nr 3.020.206, 3.020.207, 3.391.060 og 4.154.654. Betegnelsen xantangummi omfatter produkter som er behandlet og modifisert som deacetylert xantangummi, xantangummi uten pyruvat, xantangummi fornettet ved hjelp av polyvalente kationer, gummi-glykosalkompleksene osv. I blandingene i henhold til oppfinnelsen kan man anvende en gummi eller en gummiblanding. Det er kjent at under andre bestemte forhold viser gummi-blandingene en synergi med hensyn til deres evne til viskositetsdannelse og/eller fortykning. Denne synergi kan med fordel utnyttes i blandingene henhold til den foreliggende oppfinnelse.
Syrekomponenten i blandingen kan være enhver mettet eller umettet mono- eller polykarboksylsyre som er løselig i vann og som har en dissosiasjonskonstant pK ved 25°C som er større eller lik 2.
Eksempler på syrer som kan anvendes omfatter monokarboksyl-syrer som maursyre, eddiksyre, kloreddiksyre, melkesyre og askorbinsyre, dikarboksylsyrer som fumarsyre, malonsyre, ravsyre, glutarsyre, itakonsyre og vinsyre, trikarboksylsyrer som sitronsyre, som anvendes alene eller i blanding. I blandingene som skal anvendes for rensing av overflater, foretrekkes særlig maursyre, eddiksyre og sitronsyre. Foretrukket er pK-konstanten ikke over 6-7.
Som et salt av en syre med pK over 2 og en sterk base, kan man nevne spesielt alkalisalter eller ammoniumsalter av de ovennevnte syrer og deres blandinger. Eksempler på salter er natriumformiat, kaliumformiat, mono-, di- eller trinatrium-fosfater, mono-, di- eller trikaliumfosfater, natriumborat, natrium- eller kaliummonohydrogensitrat, natrium- eller kaliumdihydrogensitrat, natrium- eller kaliumtartrater, sure natrium- eller kaliumtartrater, natriumkarbonat, natrium-hydrogenkarbonat, natrium- eller kaliumftalater, sure natrium- eller kaliumftalater osv.
De relative mengdeforhold mellom syren, syresaltet og polysakkaridet kan variere innen et bredt område som en funksjon av faktorer som typen av hver av tilsetningsmidlene, den ønskede viskositet og den påtenkte spesifikke anvendelse.
Man kan fremstille en typisk blanding med en pH fra 1,5 til 6, som omfatter fra 2 og 40 vekt% syre, fra 0,1 til 30 vekt% av et salt av syren, fra 0,001 til 20 vekt% polysakkarid og fra 10 til 97 vekt% vann.
I rensemiddelblandingene har man generelt en syremengde mellom 0,5 mol og 10 mol pr liter blanding for å oppnå en effektiv rensevirkning. Mengden salt er en funksjon av pK-verdien og av mengden fri syre som er tilstede i blandingen. Den nødvendige mengde bestemmes ved å holde pH i løsningen på en verdi mellom 1,5 og 6 og foretrukket mellom 2 og 4. Den optimale pH-verdi avhenger av typen avsetning som skal fjernes og typen overflate som skal renses.
Mengden polysakkarid i blandingen kan likeledes variere innen et bredt område som en funksjon av tykningsevnen til den valgte gummien og den ønskede konsistens av blandingen som kan være fra flytende form til gelform. Det er viktig for rensingen av overflatene at viskositeten og/eller flytgrensen er slik at blandingen kan påføres i en ønsket tykkelse og forbli på overflater som ikke er plane uten at blandingen renner av flatene. Blandingene som anvendes for rensing av sanitærartikler fremstilles generelt på sprayflasker. Mengden polysakkarid er fra 0,001 til 10 vekt%, foretrukket fra 0,01 til 5 vekt%, som er tilstrekkelig for å oppnå at blandingen enkelt kan føres ut gjennom røret i flasken idet blandingen har en viskositet som er tilstrekkelig til at den blir i kontakt med overflaten som skal renses. Blandingene i form av tykke geler eller pastaer som spesielt er tilpasset rensemiddelblandinger og som påføres ved hjelp av en knivlignende anordning, en børste eller en kost eller i form av en gel som er oppløselig i vann, kan inneholde en større mengde polysakkarid, f. eks fra 0,1 til 20 vekt% i henhold til vekten av blandingen.
Blandingene kan fremstilles på flere passende måter ved at tilsetningsmidlene blandes i vann. Det er foretrukket at polysakkaridet først dispergeres og oppløses i vann hvoretter syren og til slutt saltet tilsettes.
Tilsetning av syresaltet er for effektivt å øke flytgrense-verdien i blandingen. Dessuten fører tilsetningen til en minimalisering av hydrolysen av polysakkaridet som gir et fall i viskositet og flytgrense. Blandingene kan således lagres uten konserveringsmiddel over en lengre tidsperiode idet flytegenskapene forblir tilfredsstillende. De anvendes spesielt ved rensing av porselensoverflater og metalloverflater.
Blandingen kan eventuelt inneholde andre tilsetningsmidler som overflateaktive midler, fargemidler, vaskemidler, luktstoffer, baktericider, slipemidler og andre.
Følgende eksempler er gitt for å illustrere den foreliggende oppfinnelse. I alle eksemplene er delene oppgitt i form av vektdeler.
Eksempel 1
20 vektdeler maursyre med renhet 100% tilsettes til 80 vektdeler av en vandig løsning som inneholder 3,75 g/l xantangummi (Marque Rhodopol 23 de la Société Rh6ne-Poulenc Spécialites Chimiques). Denne blandingen betegnes A.
I 9 5 vektdeler av blandingen A, oppløses 5 vektdeler tri-natriumfosfat inneholdende 12 H2O. pH er lik 2.
Prøvefraksjoner av blandingen lagres i 30 døgn ved 25°C og 40°C.
For hver prøve måles viskositeten, den kritiske flytspen-ningen og beleggfjerningsevnen.
Viskositeten og den kritiske flytspenning (flytevne) måles ved hjelp av et roterende viskosimeter RHEOMAT 30<®> ved en' temperatur på 25°C.
Viskositeten n oppgis i 100 sek.~l.
Den kritiske flytspenning ac: man måler viskositeten ved en stor hastighetsgradientskala (fra 0,01 til 700 sek.~l) idet man gjennomfører en syklus med økende og avtagende hastig-heter i løpet av 2 min. Den kritiske flytspenning defineres som restspenningen som er oppnådd umiddelbart etter endt sk j aerpåk j enning.
Beleggfjerningsevnen bestemmes ved hjelp av følgende test:
en liten plate som veier 4 g av et materiale av 100% kalsium-karbonat og med en størrelse på 20 x 20 x 5 senkes ned i blandingen hvis mengde er beregnet slik at reaksjonen mellom CaC03 og syren er ekvimolar. Etter kontakt i 15 min, tilsettes 3 0 g destillert vann hvorpå blandingen får stå i 2 timer. Man måler det relative vekttapet av materialet (Ap%). Testen gjennomføres i blandingene etter lagring i 30 døgn ved 25°C og 40°C.
Resultatene er gitt i den etterfølgende tabell:
Man ser at blandingen i henhold til den foreliggende oppfinnelse har en økt flytgrense i forhold til prøve A idet viskositeten har samme verdi og at stabiliteten av blandingen er forbedret som målt som en forandring av den kritiske flytspenning og viskositeten.
Eksempel 2
På samme måte som angitt i eksempel 1, fremstilles en sur løsning som inneholder 0,3 vekt% xantangummi og 9,5 vekt% maursyre (prøve B).
Til 98,1 deler av løsning B, tilsettes 1,9 deler trinatrium-fosfat med 12 H2O for å oppnå en pH lik 2.
Følgende resultater ble oppnådd:
En sammenlikning av verdiene for blandingen i henhold til oppfinnelsen ifølge eksempel 2 og blanding B viser at, for en vesentlig lik beleggfjerningsevne, utviser blandingen i henhold til oppfinnelse en initial flytspenning på +31% og +150% etter 30 døgns lagring.
Eksempel 3
Man gjør en forandring i eksempel 2 idet man øker konsentra-sjonen av xantangummi. I dette eksemplet, inneholder den vandige løsning C 0,4 5 vekt% xantangummi og 9,5 vekt% maursyre.
Til 98,1 deler av løsning C, tilsettes 1,9 deler trinatrium-fosfat med 12 H20. pH er lik 2.
De oppnådde resultater er vist i den etterfølgende tabell:
Til 100 deler av løsningene D, E og F, tilsettes trinatrium-fosfat med 10 H2O i følgende mengder:
D: 0,7 deler (eksempel 4) pH : 2,3
E: 11,1 deler (eksempel 5) pH : 2
F: 11,85 deler (eksempel 6) pH : 2
Resultatene er gitt i den etterfølgende tabell:
De oppnådde resultatene for blandingen i henhold til eksempel 6 er lavere enn for de andre blandingene, både med hensyn på renseevnen og med hensyn på stabilitet ved lagring, særlig ved 40°C.

I disse eksempler, varieres naturen og mengden av det til-satte saltet.
Den vandige løsning G inneholder 0,3 vekt% xantangummi og 9,5 vekt% maursyre.

Prøve H: vandig løsning inneholdende 0,48 vekt% guargummi og 20 vekt% maursyre.
Til 100 deler av denne løsningen tilsettes 5,26 deler tri-natriumfosfat (eksempel 10). pH er lik 2.
Prøve I: vandig løsning inneholdende 0,4 8 vekt% karboksy-metylcellulose og 20 vekt% maursyre.
Til 100 deler av denne løsningen tilsettes 25 deler tri-natriumfosfat (eksempel 11). pH er lik 4.

Claims (8)
1. Vannholdig sur blanding som er tyknet med et polysakkarid,
karakterisert ved at blandingen inneholder fra 0,001 til 20 vekt% polysakkarid, fra 2 til 40 vekt% av en organisk syre med en dissosiasjonskonstant pK som er lik eller større enn 2 ved 25°C, fra 0,1 til 30 vekt% av minst ett salt av en organisk syre eller en mineralsyre med en pK-verdi som er lik eller større enn 2 og en sterk base, og fra 10 til 97 vekt% vann.
2. Blanding som angitt i krav 1, karakterisert ved at polysakkaridet er valgt fra gruppen omfattende naturgummier, modifiserte naturgummier, biosyntetiske gummier og blandinger derav.
3. Blanding som angitt i krav 1, karakterisert ved at polysakkaridet er et heteropolysakkarid fra slekten Xanthomonas.
4. ' Blanding som angitt i krav 1, karakterisert ved at polysakkaridet er xantangummi.
5. Blanding som angitt i krav 1 - 4, karakterisert ved at syren er valgt fra gruppen omfattende maursyre, eddiksyre og sitronsyre.
6. Blanding som angitt i krav 1-5, karakterisert ved at pH-verdien er fra 1,5 - 6.
7. Blanding som angitt i krav 1 - 5, karakterisert ved at pH-verdien er fra 2-4.
8. Anvendelse av blandingen som angitt i krav 1-7 for rensing av overflater, særlig porselensoverflater og metalloverflater.
