Abstract

A collapsible tray produced from a rigid blank. Two walls (6, 8) of the tray are each provided with a respective first fold line (18, 18) which extends parallel with the lower edge of the wall, and a respective second and a third fold line (20,21 and 22,23) which extends from a respective one of the two lower corners of the wall to a respective free edge (14,16) of the wall while intersecting the first fold line to form an oblique angle (v1) therewith, the second and the third fold lines forming an angle of about 45 DEG with a respective side edge extending from the same corner. The tray can be either folded along the first fold line to form rim sections (26-29) which when folded outwards lock the walls in a position in which folding along the second and the third fold lines is prevented, or can be folded along the second and the third fold line, so as to collapse the tray.

Description

The present invention relates to a collapsible trough with high walls, made of flat, rigid material with a square bottom which is limited by four bottom edges and with four walls, and with the features indicated in the introduction to claim 1.

Sammenbrettbare trau av den innledningsvis angitte art Collapsible troughs of the kind indicated at the outset

er kjent fra f.eks. US patentskrift 1.760.325.. Hittil kjente sammenbrettbare trau har imidlertid ikke tilstrekkelig stødig-het i oppreist stilling, fordi de nødvendige ekstra bøyelinjer som er nødvendige for sammenbrettingen, gir trauet en ubestemt, skjev form. is known from e.g. US patent 1,760,325. However, collapsible troughs known to date do not have sufficient stability in the upright position, because the additional bending lines required for folding give the trough an indeterminate, crooked shape.

The known collapsible troughs cannot be used for heat preservation of e.g. dishes, because they lack the possibility of being able to be closed with a lid that provides a sufficient seal against the trough.

Videre er de kjente trau ikke utformet på en slik måte Furthermore, the known troughs are not designed in such a way

at de kan oppbevares i forrådsbeholdere som trauene raskt kan tas ut av og rettes opp. that they can be stored in storage containers from which the troughs can be quickly removed and straightened.

From Norwegian patent 161 843 and DE patent 1 199 178, collapsible troughs with fold-out edge strips are also known, but these trough constructions have weak corners, which are also not leak-proof.

The purpose of the invention is therefore to provide a collapsible trough where the above-mentioned disadvantages are effectively eliminated.

This purpose is achieved by a trough of the type mentioned at the outset which, according to the invention, is characterized by the features that appear in the claims.

The trough according to the invention has a very great flexibility, because it is partly folded along said second and third fold lines, and partly can be stabilized in an upright position due to said first fold lines. Because these cross the second and third fold lines at an oblique angle, the second and third fold lines are created by folding the trough along the first fold lines and are divided into two differently oriented fold parts that cannot be folded at the same time.

Videre innebærer trauet ifølge oppfinnelsen at trauet Furthermore, the trough according to the invention implies that the trough

kan pakkes sammenbrettet til en stabel inne i en beholder, can be packed folded into a stack inside a container,

hvorfra dé ett og ett kan tas ut samtidig som de reises under passasjen gjennom en spalteåpning i beholderen. from which they can be taken out one by one at the same time as they are raised during the passage through a slit opening in the container.

Fig. 1 viser et trau ifølge oppfinnelsen i oppreist stilling . The invention will be described in more detail below with reference to the attached drawing which shows a preferred embodiment of the invention. Fig. 1 shows a trough according to the invention in an upright position.

Fig. 5 shows how a lid can be locked against the trough.

Fig. 6 viser en beholder for trauene. Fig. 6 shows a container for the troughs.

The trough shown in fig. 1, comprises a square, preferably rectangular bottom 1 which is limited by four bottom edges 2-5, and by four walls 6-9, each of which has a lower edge that coincides with each of the bottom edges 2-5, partly two side edges 10 and 11, 11 and 12, 12 and 13 resp. 13 and 10, each of which extends a predetermined distance (approx. 70-90% of the length of the side edge, counted from the lower corner of the wall) coinciding with the respective side edge of the delimiting wall.

The parts of the side edges 10-13 which do not coincide with each other are made up of side edges of fold-out edges which will be described in more detail below.

Veggene 6-9 oppviser dessuten en øvre, fri kant 14-17. The walls 6-9 also have an upper, free edge 14-17.

17. Derved luter trauets vegger noe utover, slik at flere oppreiste trau kan stables i hverandre. The walls 6-9 each have the shape of a parallel truncated triangle, where the triangle's base is formed by the free edge 14, 15, 16 or 17. Thereby, the walls of the trough lean slightly outwards, so that several upright troughs can be stacked one on top of the other.

12 og 13 og parallelt med veggens nedre kant The two opposite walls 6 and 8 show a first folding line 18 or 19 which extends between the two side edges of the wall 10 and 11 resp. 12 and 13 and parallel to the lower edge of the wall

2 resp. 4. En annen og tredje brettelinje 20 og 21 resp. 22 2 or 4. A second and third folding line 20 and 21 respectively. 22

19 under en skrå vinkel v^and 23 proceed from each corner of the two lower corners of the walls 6 and 8 to the wall's free edge 14 resp. 16 during crossing of the first folding line 18 or 19 under an oblique angle v^

45° if the walls of the trough are not inclined, and as with the one in fig. 1 shown embodiment with inclined walls exceeds 45° in relation to the degree of inclination of the walls. Each and every one of the fold lines 20-23 is thus divided by the fold lines 18

og 19 i en første, nedre del 20a, 21a, 22a resp. 23a, som befinner seg under brettelinjen 18 resp. 19, og i en annen øvre del 20b, 21b, 22b resp. 23b som befinner seg over brettelinjen 18 resp. 19. and 19 in a first, lower part 20a, 21a, 22a resp. 23a, which is located below the fold line 18 or 19, and in another upper part 20b, 21b, 22b resp. 23b which is located above the fold line 18 or 19.

The folding lines 20-23 each form an angle that forms approx. 45° with the side edge 10, 11, 12 resp. 13, so that the folding of the trough can take place along the lines 20-23 under certain conditions, as will be seen in more detail below.

19. The other two walls 7 and 9 each have a folding line 24 or 25 which extends between the wall's two side edges 10 and 13 resp. 11 and 12 as well as parallel to the wall's lower edge 5 or 3 at the same height from the bottom of the trough 1 as the fold lines 18 and 8 of the first walls 6 and 8 respectively. 19.

1 shown trough can be folded into the one in fig. 3 shown shape by folding the walls 7 and 9 of the trough towards the middle part of the trough, as the walls 6 and 8 fold along

brettelinjene 20-23, slik det fremgår av fig. 3. the fold lines 20-23, as can be seen from fig. 3.

Dersom imidlertid veggene i det på fig. 1 viste trau isteden blir brettet utover langs brettelinjene 18, 19, 24 If, however, the walls in that in fig. 1, the trough shown is instead folded outwards along the fold lines 18, 19, 24

23a, slik at bretting langs brettelinjene 20-23 and 25 for forming outwardly folded side pieces in the form of so-called edges 26-29, as can be seen from fig. 2, form the above-mentioned upper parts 20b, 21b, 22b resp. 23b in the fold lines 20-23 an angle with corresponding lower parts 20a, 21a, 22a resp. 23a, so that folding along the folding lines 20-23

blir forhindret, og det oppreiste trau vil således få en meget stabil og veldefinert form. is prevented, and the upright trough will thus have a very stable and well-defined shape.

4. Fig. 4 shows a cut-to-size, flat blank of plastic-treated cardboard or the like, which, when folded and joined, can assume the trough shape shown in fig. 1-3. From each of the four bottom corners of the trough, two additional fold lines 30 a-b, 31 a-b, 32 a-b respectively emanate. 33 a-b. When joining the corner parts of the trough, the same will take place with all four corners, which is why it should be sufficient here to describe the joining of e.g. the lower right corner part of fig. 4.

One first folds along lines 11, 31a and 31b, after which the part between lines 11 and 31a and 31a and 31b is brought to partly overlap each other and part of the part between lines 31b and 21a. The line 31a in fig. 4 shown case placed midway between the lines 11 and 31b, so that these therefore coincide with each other and together form the side edge 11 shown in fig. 1-3. The corner section is then fixed in its erected state by means of gluing, point fixing or welding of the trough's plastic-treated outer layer.

Alternatively, the triangular part between the lines 31a and 31b can be removed, so that only the part between the lines 11 and 31a needs to be attached to the wall 6.

Slik det best fremgår av fig. 4, er brettelinjene 24 As can best be seen from fig. 4, the fold lines are 24

39 and 25 interrupted between two points 34 and 35 resp. 36 and 37, which form the two endpoints of a U-shaped section 38 or 39

2 og 5. which extends into the corresponding rim 28 or 29. When unfolding the edges 28 and 29, the two sections 38 and 39 each form their own locking tongue as shown in fig. 2 and 5.

To langsgående, smale låsespalter i form av uttagninger Two longitudinal, narrow locking slits in the form of recesses

40 og 41 er anordnet i sargen 14 resp. 16, idet spaltenes ene lengdekant fortrinnsvis sammenfaller med brettelinjen 40 and 41 are arranged in the rim 14 resp. 16, with one longitudinal edge of the slits preferably coinciding with the fold line

18 resp. 19. 18 or 19.

De beskrevne låsetunger og låsespalter er innrettet til The described locking tongues and locking slots are designed for

å fastholde et lokk 42 som er nærmere anskueliggjort på fig. to maintain a cover 42 which is more clearly illustrated in fig.

2. Lokket 42 som består av plastbehandlet, plant kartongemne eller lignende, oppviser således to låsefliker 43 og 44, f.eks. tildannet ved stansing i lokkets kanter, samt to åpninger 45 og 46, f.eks. i form av gjennomstansinger som er innrettet til å 5, where a trough is shown with the same shape as that in fig. 2. The lid 42, which consists of a plastic-treated, flat cardboard blank or the like, thus has two locking tabs 43 and 44, e.g. formed by punching in the edges of the lid, as well as two openings 45 and 46, e.g. in the form of punches which are designed to

46b, 46c, slik at der dannes to låsefliker mellom snittene 45b og 45c resp. come into engagement with the trough's locking tongues 38 and 39 and locking slots 40 and 41. The openings 45 and 46 suitably consist partly of an elongated section 45a or 46a arranged to receive each of the trough's locking tongues, partly of two oriented across the elongated section, shorter sections 45b, 45c resp. 46b, 46c, so that two locking tabs are formed between the cuts 45b and 45c resp.

mellom snittene 46b og 46c. Derved kan lokket 42 anbringes mot trauets sarger, hvoretter lokket med et lett trykk kan sneppes fast på trauet. between sections 46b and 46c. Thereby, the lid 42 can be placed against the edges of the trough, after which the lid can be snapped onto the trough with a light pressure.

Fig. 6 shows a container 47 for a plurality of troughs, where the troughs are packed folded in a stack, from which each trough can be taken out, while the trough is forced to rise as it is taken out of the container.

The wall 49 exhibits along its vertical center line an evenly wide slot opening 53 with essentially the same width as the distance between the two folding lines 18 and 19 in the walls 6 and 8. The troughs are stacked on top of each other in the folded state to form a stack 54 with each of the lower edges

3 and 5 at the walls 7 resp. 9 oriented parallel to the slot opening 53. Above the stack 54 rests a loosely arranged counterweight in the form of a rectangular plate 55, e.g. of metal or plastic. The plate 55 has at two opposite edges a rectangular recess 56 or 57, so that the plate takes an H-shape with an intermediate piece 58 which separates the aforementioned recesses 56 and 57 from each other. The plate 55 is oriented with its one recess, e.g. the socket 56, facing the slit opening 53. As shown in fig. 6, a grasping hand or equivalent can take hold of the wall 7 of the uppermost trough and begin a horizontal extraction of the trough through the slot opening 53. As the trough in its folded position as it has in stacked form is too wide for the slot opening 53, this edge will guide the walls 6 and 8 of the trough upwards, so that the trough can pass through the slit opening.

Når uttrekningen av trauet er påbegynt, vil bakkanten When the withdrawal of the trough has begun, the trailing edge will

Når trauets bakre vegg 9 har reist seg, slipper partiet 58 inngrepet med veggen 9 i og med at denne kan gli under partiet 58. of the counterweight plate's intermediate part 58 hooks into the rear wall 9 of the trough and forces it to rise, which further contributes to raising the trough when it is pulled out of the container. When the trough's free edges 14 and 16 rise, they simultaneously lift the counterweight surface 55. When the trough is further extended, the trough thus slides under the plate 55. When the trough's rear wall 9 has risen, the part 58 releases the engagement with the wall 9 in that it can slide under party 58.

The release of the wall 9 from the section 58 is made easier by the fact that the wall 9 has the foldable edge 29. As soon as the trough leaves the slit opening 53, the plate 55 falls back onto the trough table 54.

The plate 55 can of course have a different shape than that shown. One condition, however, is that it has at least the same width as the distance between the free edges 14 and 16 in the folded state of the trough, so that the plate can be lifted by these edges when the trough rises. Furthermore, the fastening device 57 does not have to be in the form of a recess, but can alternatively be designed as at least a protruding tongue or the like (not shown) with the purpose of squatting in the rear wall 9 when the trough is pulled out through the opening 53. The choice of fastening device in the plate 55 is determined by the degree of the available space between the trough's free edges 15 and 17 in the folded state of the trough. It is naturally up to and including possible to design the fastening element as one or more tongues or the like arranged in the recess 57, which thus proceed from the rear edge of the intermediate piece 58. The fastening element can up to designed as one or more tongues or the like, which protrude from the underside of the plate

In this case, you therefore do not need any withdrawal

57 i platen. 57 in the plate.

According to an alternative embodiment, the lid can be attached to the trough by means of welding or the like. In this case, the trough's locking tongues and locking plates as well as the lid's locking tabs and openings can therefore be dispensed with.
