Description

The present invention aims to be able to produce a system which automatically gives signals about mesh breakage in a mare prepared from groove or similar material. The invention is designed with a view to use in the sea for salmon, smolt etc., but can of course be used in other seas and for other living maritime species.

It is a well-known fact that large quantities of farmed fish are lost every year, which are allowed free passage out of the dam due to broken mesh. Such breaches are difficult, if not impossible, to detect in time so that measures can be taken to limit the outflow of valuable fish. There has therefore been a great desire in the farming industry to come up with devices which, to the greatest extent possible, were able to give signs of "holes" in the mare.

According to the present invention, one believes to have arrived at a system which has shown good results in practical tests.

The new and characteristic feature of the invention is that the thread itself, from which the groove or parts of it is processed, has a current-carrying insulated wire spun into its core which, when the mesh and thus the current-carrying wire breaks, emits a sufficient electrical input pulse to affect the surrounding electrodes arranged in the mær are designed to transmit impulses visually as light or sound signals using, for example, a telephone or other means of communication. The current-carrying wire that is part of the mesh thread, for each or every mesh father, is collected in a vertical sausage and brought up to the surface where it is connected to a power source. In the event of a mesh break in the groove or the core, signals from these are picked up using a specific number and types of electrodes that are lowered and placed around the core. The signals can now be transmitted visually as light signals or sound signals, for example by telephone.

In the case of larger measuring installations, it is hardly required that the entire groove has meshes with spun-in cables. One can imagine here that the lower part of the groove, below 3 - 4m, would do best with ordinary thread.

In order for the novelty of the invention to be better expressed, it will subsequently be explained in more detail in connection with the attached drawing where fig. 1 shows, seen from the side, a diagrammatic execution of the groove or the mær itself, where one imagines that the current-carrying wires, of which the meshes are made up, are collected in a vertical sausage and led up to the mær's platform. Fig. 2 shows, seen from the side, a section of the groove where the current-carrying wires from every other mesh layer are gathered in the vertical sausage.

In the figures, A denotes the actual meshes in the net which have spun in their cores insulated current-carrying wires B. S denotes the vertical wire sausage that collects the spun-in wires and leads them to the surface for connection to a power source on land. D denotes electrodes that are submerged and placed around the mare itself E must be able to pick up signals as soon as there is a mesh break F. G denotes the mare's platform and H denotes floats while I denotes the mare's railing.
