Description
The present invention relates to a device for underwater drilling in rock or solid mass, which is possibly covered by loose material, in connection with blasting work or other underwater work, such as for example ground investigations, without the use of divers.
In the past, divers have been used when loading boreholes underwater, which is both expensive and time-consuming. Charging of underwater boreholes often has to be carried out under difficult working conditions with reduced visibility and strong water movements. Charging the boreholes with explosives also entails, under such working conditions, a major safety risk. Today's safety regulations mean that drilling must be carried out at a distance from an already charged borehole which in practice is greater than the desired distance between the boreholes in order to achieve the desired fragmentation of the mass. The operator therefore has the choice between filling each hole immediately following the drilling and having a greater distance between the holes than actually desired, or drilling all holes with the desired hole spacing and filling the holes after complete drilling. The disadvantages and dangers mentioned above are avoided by using the present invention, which can also be used successfully in connection with the lowering and cementing of anchorages in the seabed, repeated lowering and raising of measuring instruments, signal wires, etc.
In this type of underwater drilling, a drilling rig is used with a spear which at the end carries a front guide designed to be brought to a stop against the solid bottom or to penetrate into the loose mass above the solid bottom, for steering a drill string and for steering a casing or charging pipe , as the casing or charging pipe is guided through the front control into the drill hole immediately after the drill string has been pulled out and before the entire equipment is moved to the next drilling position. The distinctive feature of such a drilling rig according to the invention is that the front steering, which is replaceable to have a length that matches the thickness of the loose mass layer, is designed to be opened so that the rig can be moved sideways without the front steering having to is lifted up above the upper end of the casing or charging pipe, which suitably extends to the surface of the water or somewhat above the surface.
Appropriately, the front steering joint is like a "jaw" arranged to enclose the drill string or casing in a known manner and arranged to be opened upon release from the overwater part of the rig.
The device is appropriately equipped with separate guides on the rig, for drill string and casing, for alternating placement of drill string and casing in the borehole without having to pull casing or drill string far up from the front steering.
The invention is described in more detail with reference to the attached drawing, which shows, for example, an embodiment.
On a raft 1 or other structure in or above the surface of the water, a drilling rig is mounted with a spear 2 which at the end carries a front steering 3 designed to be guided to a facility against
den faste bunn 4, eventuelt til å trenge ned i løsmassen 5 'over den faste bunn 4, for styring av borestrengen 6 henholdsvis for styring av innføringen av et forings- eller laderør 7. the solid bottom 4, possibly to penetrate into the loose mass 5 'above the solid bottom 4, for controlling the drill string 6 or for controlling the introduction of a casing or charging pipe 7.
9 betegner boreaggregatet for å drive borestrengen 6. 9 denotes the drilling unit for driving the drill string 6.
After the drill hole 8 has been drilled to the desired depth, the drill string 6 is pulled up to a suitable clearance above the front guide 3, while the front guide is still kept pressed against the bottom, respectively the pressure is kept into the loose mass. The casing or charging pipe '7 is then passed through the front guide 3 and a desired distance into the borehole 8. The pipe 7 has such a length, possibly by means of extensions, that the upper end protrudes above the water surface.
According to the invention, the front control 3 is designed to be opened, for example in that it is articulated as a jaw that encloses the drill string or casing, so that the front control and thus the entire rig when released from the overwater part of the rig can be moved from this drilling position to a next one without that the front steering must be lifted up above the upper end of the casing or charging pipe inserted in the borehole.
When using the device according to the invention, it is possible to charge the boreholes 8 after all the boreholes have been formed, without it being necessary to use divers, as the charges are led down into the boreholes through the casing or charging pipes which project up to or above the water surface.
