Description
Anordning ved støvsugermunnstykke. Device at vacuum cleaner nozzle.
The present invention relates to a device for a vacuum cleaner nozzle and in particular of the type to be used for vacuuming carpets.
When vacuuming carpets, it applies that the contact edges of the vacuum cleaner nozzle against the carpet are smooth and even, so that when vacuuming the carpet, the least possible wear and tear is achieved while at the same time forcing the air to pass through the carpet as much as possible to carry away dirt in the form of sand and the like. However, it has been shown that a more efficient suction of the carpet is achieved if the vacuum cleaner nozzle is shaped in such a way that it does not lie completely close to the carpet, but has a slight curvature to introduce a little false air, so that the vacuum cleaner nozzle does not easily to stick to the carpet if this is very dense. However, it is known that such nozzles do not easily pick up loose threads and the like that can lie on a carpet, and it is then common for the nozzle to be designed as a so-called double nozzle where the nozzle is turned around and you get another contact edge against the carpet where part of the construction edge is designed as a comb that loosens threads and the like, so that these are more easily sucked up.
There are known combinations where two such different contact surfaces can be achieved by lifting the nozzle slightly up, respectively pressing it down against the carpet, and it is then known to arrange a frame-shaped body inside the suction chamber of the vacuum cleaner nozzle itself, so that when lifting of the nozzle, this frame-shaped body will remain against the carpet, and this is then provided with a comb-like part for loosening threads. However, it has been found that if you want to get the full benefit of such a comb-shaped part of a vacuum cleaner nozzle to loosen threads, you have to press against the carpet and use a certain force to loosen the threads, but with the known design then the frame with the comb-shaped part is again pressed into the mouthpiece and the desired effect is not achieved. If, in order to compensate for this, springs so strong were to be arranged that the threads could still be loosened, this would mean that the frame-shaped part with the edge-shaped part would always rest against the carpet in addition to the edge of the vacuum cleaner nozzle and would thereby cause a strong wear and tear during vacuuming of carpets.
The purpose of the present invention is therefore to provide such a combination nozzle where it is possible to remove threads by applying a force to the nozzle by pressing it down, while during normal vacuuming the nozzle will rest against the carpet with smooth edges, so that it is achieved least wear and tear but the most efficient vacuuming possible.
This is achieved according to the invention by the fact that the vacuum cleaner nozzle is provided in a manner known per se with spaced and displaceably arranged box-shaped bodies open at one end which can be pressed into the nozzle against the influence of springs, and the invention is characterized by two box-shaped bodies whose bottom faces outwards is arranged approximately symmetrically in relation to the axis of the nozzle, and that each of the bottoms is provided with a chute whose bottom slopes inwards in the direction of the center of the nozzle.
Before the invention can be easily understood, it must be explained with the help of the drawing which shows a combination nozzle according to the invention combined with a brush nozzle, and where
fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section through a nozzle according to the invention, and
fig. 2 shows a section along the line II—II in fig. 1, and
fig. 1. fig. 3 shows a section along the line III—III in fig. 1.
In the figure, 1 is the housing of the vacuum cleaner nozzle itself, and on the version shown there are two suction chambers, one of which has walls 2 and the other has walls 3. In connection with the walls 2 of one suction chamber, a brush 4 is arranged which is used by vacuuming e.g. normal floors.
2. The fixed walls 3 of the nozzle, which have a part designed as a comb for entrainment of loose threads, are provided with displaceable parts 7 and 8, each of which is designed as an open box with a recess 9, see fig. 2, as this recess 9 then forms a channel which is connected to the suction chamber. By allowing this recess 9 to slope downwards towards the suction chamber, it is achieved that no turbulence occurs and thereby increases the suction efficiency. The displaceable box-shaped bodies 7 and 8 are influenced by springs 10 and 11, which are arranged around guide pins 12, 13, 14 and 15. In order to prevent these bodies from being pushed out, they are provided with flanges that abut correspondingly arranged flanges in the nozzle , see fig. 2.
When this suction chamber is used for vacuuming a carpet, the surfaces of the open boxes 7 and 8 will lie against the carpet and form a smooth surface with a minimum of wear, and a small gap is obtained for the suction of false air between the box surfaces 7 and 8. Thereby, e.g. sand and the like from the carpet and the fake air means that the nozzle does not stick to a carpet such as is provided with plastic or rubber on the back so that it does not let air through. If there is a thread or the like on the carpet, this is loosened by pressing the vacuum cleaner nozzle down against the carpet, so that the two box-shaped bodies 7 and 8 are pressed into the nozzle and the comb-shaped part on the nozzle walls 3 will be able to loosen the thread so that it is sucked with the air, and when the pressure ceases, the suction continues only with contact of the surfaces of the box-shaped members 7 and 8 without the comb coming into contact with the carpet.
In the embodiment shown, the combination nozzle is combined with a brush nozzle of a known type, so that the nozzle is provided with two suction chambers, one of which has walls 2 and the other walls 3. In connection with the walls 2 in one suction chamber, there is arranged a brush 4 which is used when vacuuming e.g. ordinary wooden floors.
The mouthpiece is also provided in the usual way with a plumb line 5 on one side, so that when the mouthpiece is lifted up, it will swing around the hose tube 6 itself, so that the part with the plumb line 5 comes lowest. The nozzle can then be tipped over, so that the other suction chamber with walls 3 can be used for vacuuming.
Such an arrangement of a carpet nozzle naturally does not have to be combined with a brush nozzle, as shown in the drawing, but can be arranged as an independent unit or combined with other vacuum cleaner equipment. Furthermore, the nozzle does not have to be reversible in the manner shown, but can be fixed.
