This purpose has been achieved at the same time that: people have sought to improve the adaptation of the nappy to the child's body, which often also leads to the advantage that improvement of the collection capacity is obtained. One of the more common ways to achieve these desired features has been to extend the cover piece or ;the outside; make r for ,å; .tilyeiebringe^laf f on,inside;:: which kiaf in,are^oyerlappers..^of the upper piece, or the interior .

According to the invention, it is proposed for a disposable diaper of the kind that has an absorbent core inserted between a moisture-permeable top piece or inner layer and a moisture-impermeable cover piece or outer layer that there is at least one discontinuity in the absorbent core that divides this into separate parts by means of at least one isolation line between these separate parts, which line or lines extend from one edge of the diaper and end at another edge thereof, and where the cover piece runs continuously as well
i området for nevnte linje eller linjer, samt lim- eller sveise-sommer som samvirker med kjernen for å opprettholde nevnte ' isolasjonslinje eller -linjer mellom dé nærbeliggende separate partier av kjernen, hvilken linje eller linjer derved tilveiebringer en væskesperring som hindrer at væske kan stromme i bleien fra et område på den ene side av en isolsjonslinje til et område på den annen side av denne. in the area of said line or lines, as well as glue or welding summers which cooperate with the core to maintain said 'insulation line or lines between the adjacent separate parts of the core, which line or lines thereby provide a liquid barrier that prevents liquid from flowing in the diaper from an area on one side of an isolation line to an area on the other side of this.
The advantages achieved by the disposable diaper according to the invention compared to previously known such diapers are the significant improvement that is achieved when it comes to liquid collection. This is made possible by the proposed division of the absorbent core layer into separate parts. The discontinuity in the absorption material favorably forms barriers to the flow of liquid in it. The insulation lines between the separate parts are then preferably arranged in such a way that they inhibit the flow of liquid in the lateral direction of the nappy, but contribute to the flow of liquid in its longitudinal direction. Thereby, the absorbent material is fully utilized and the total absorption capacity is increased.
The nappy's fold lines can advantageously coincide with the insulation lines. This also results in a particularly good fit of the nappy for the child's body.
In the preferred construction of the present design, the absorbent core is divided by means of discontinuities into one relatively large central block 13, intermediate side blocks, respectively 14 and 15, and the smaller side blocks, respectively. 16 and 17. The absorbent core can be chosen from many known materials suitable for this purpose.
The edges of cover pieces 11 and top pieces 12 are preferably shaped so that the entire draft configuration in flat form, as shown in fig. 1, resembles an hourglass. The hourglass shape in the preferred design has been found to provide better fitting properties, as will be seen below. The peripheral edges of the cover piece 11 and the top piece 12 are laid over the side edges of the absorbent pad, on which side seams 18 and 19 are formed either by using glue or by heat welding the plastic material in the cover piece 11 to the top piece 12.
Diskontinuitetene mellom de absorberende deler 13, 14, 15, 16 The discontinuities between the absorbent parts 13, 14, 15, 16
These lines between adjacent parts of the draft allow the cover piece 11 and the top piece 12 to be continuous in these relatively narrow areas. In a preferred design, the cover piece 11 and the top piece 12 can be fixed in the areas that form the insulation lines, using a suitable adhesive or by heat welding. Fig. 2 shows the insulation lines 20 and 21 formed in this way. Similar insulation lines 22 and 23 are formed on the other side of the nappy. The insulation lines 20, 21, 22 and 23 are preferably from 6 to 10 mm wide.
The insulation lines can also be formed by attaching the blanks 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 directly to the cover piece 11 or the top piece 12, or to both. In the latter case, it is not necessary to
lime dekkstykket 11 til toppstykket 12, skjbnt dette kan også gjbres om så pnskes. glue the cover piece 11 to the top piece 12, although this can also be removed if desired.
The insulation lines 20, 21, 22 and 23 provide areas of complete insulation between the various absorbent parts 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 of the core cloth, thus providing barriers against lateral fluid flow when the diaper is in use. These barriers favor liquid flow along the length of the nappy and thus significantly improve the nappy's collecting capacity. The effectiveness of the lines 20, 21, 22 and 23 is increased by their structure including the water impervious cover piece 11 and the water repellent non-woven top piece 12.
25 og 26 In the shown preferred design of the diaper, the insulation lines 20, 21, 22 and 23 are formed so that each of them extends from one side edge towards the central axis 24 of the diaper 10, whereupon they are bent back and end at the same side edge. In a most preferred design, the isolation lines 20, 21, 22 and 23 have a hyperbolic shape so that they isolate the intermediate areas, respectively. 25 and 26
og sammen med de resp. sidesommer 18 og 19 isolerer de de resp. ytre områder 27 og 28. and together with the resp. side summer 18 and 19 they isolate the resp. outer areas 27 and 28.
4. When the diaper is folded over the central axis 24 to that in fig. 3 shown shape, the insulation lines 20, 21, 22 and 23 serve as folding lines with a high degree of flexibility. In this way, the diaper can be folded so that the part of the top piece 12 that covers the intermediate areas 25 and 26 is folded against the part of the top piece 12 that covers the middle area 29. In a similar way, the part of the cover piece 11 that covers the outer areas 27 and 28 over towards and is placed on top of the part of the cover piece 11 which covers the resp. intermediate areas 25 and 26. The way in which the different areas are folded together is shown highlighted in the cross-section in fig. 4.
Another feature of the preferred design of the diaper is also shown in fig. 4. In particular, glue points are provided to keep the folded area in place. The glue point 30 is arranged to hold the middle area 25 to the middle area 29, while the glue point 31 holds the middle area 25 to the outer part 27 in the upper part of the diaper.
In a similar way, glue points 32 and 33 are arranged in the same way in the lower part of the nappy. Fig. 4 also shows the ease with which the folding takes place along the lines 20 and 21.
It will be understood that in the preferred design a similar group of glue points 30a, 31a, 32a, and 33a (fig. 3) are arranged on the lines 26, 28 and 29 to shape and fold the second edge of the diaper. In both cases, the glue points are arranged near the outer ends of the intermediate parts 25 and 26 and the outer parts 27 and 28, which is evident from fig. 3. The purpose of the glue points is to ensure that the folding of the intermediate parts 25 and 26 and the outer parts :-2%7;-.and 28 is not disturbed at the ends of these when the diaper is placed around the child's legs. The retention of the folds ensures a highly comfortable fit and further increases the collection capability of the preferred design.
A preferred feature of the present construction is the eccentric placement of the central axis 24 in relation to the ends of the diaper 35 and 35. The axis 24 is closer to the end 34 which is later placed towards the child's front. This ensures a better fit for the openings for the legs, as the child's legs are normally directed forwards.
5. It;*yli; it can be seen that the nappy is fitted with pressure-sensitive adhesive flaps. :/36^6g>37 to lock denvi a preferred shape. These flaps can be of any known shape and are usually covered with a suitably treated paper which is torn off for use. After the diaper has been placed around the child, the tear-off paper is removed and the exposed end of the pressure-adjustable flaps 36 and 37 is glued to the corresponding opposite corner of the diaper as shown in fig. 5.
In the preferred embodiment, each line extends 20, 21, 22 and L23/seg. continuously from one edge of the diaper and bowed so that they end at the same side edge. However, this is not a necessity, as an insulation line can run continuously from one side edge either to an adjacent side edge or the opposite side edge. In some cases, it may even be desirable to form an isolation line parallel to one or both ends 34 and/or 35 near the edge of the absorbent pad in order to collect liquids that have escaped to the ends of the diaper.
Although specific materials for making the preferred design of the diaper have been mentioned above, it will be understood that various materials can be used, including tissue paper, crepe paper and non-woven fabrics as well as absorbent pads in the pad such as wadding, cellulose flakes or air-filled materials in suitable combinations, The tire piece can be formed from any known plastic material, e.g. polyethylene, polypropylene etc. with suitable flexibility and water impervious properties to maintain the desired function of the invention.
