Description
Anordning for styring av torkeluften i elektriske hårtorkningsapparater. Device for controlling the drying air in electric hair dryers.
The present invention relates to a device for controlling the drying air in electric hair dryers with a hood, in the upper part of which a fan for sucking in air from the environment outside the hood, and an electric heating element (or more) is placed on the upper side of a protective grid, through which air propelled by the fan and heated by the heating element flows into a drying room.
For drying hair, electric hair dryers in the form of a hood, which are threaded over the head, are often used. Electric heating elements are built into the hood to heat the necessary drying air that is sucked in and flows through the hood through a perforated grid, driven forward by an electric fan arranged in the hood.
Previous hair-drying devices according to the above-mentioned principle have, however, shown various defects both of a technical and of a manufacturing nature. thus, e.g. the embodiments according to US patent no. 2 982 030 resp. French patent no. 1 402 578, compared to the construction according to the invention, relatively ineffective as regards the distribution paths of the drying air in the hood. According to the invention, the hot drying air is effectively captured by means of guide ribs with corresponding slot openings, which ribs are arranged on the upper side of the grid, while in the construction according to the mentioned patent documents such are not arranged on the grid or these are located on the underside of the grid.
Of particular importance is that the air stream is distributed in an even movement down over the head and its sides, so that the drying is uniform and the necessary drying time is thereby as short as possible.
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a structurally simple and thus also operationally reliable way of controlling the path of the heated drying air flow through the hood, so that the just-mentioned objective is completely fulfilled.
This is achieved according to the present invention by the combination that the protective grid on the upper side is provided with guide ribs inclined relative to the radial direction of the grid and on the underside with inwardly directed guide surfaces to control the air passing through the protective grid inward-downwards in the direction of the middle part of the drying chamber.
The invention will be explained in more detail below with the help of an embodiment example with reference to the drawings where
fig. 1 viser hetten i snitt, fig. 1 shows the cap in section,
fig. 2 shows a perspective view of the hood's protective grid with devices for controlling the drying air drum,
fig. 3 viser i snitt beskyttelsesgitterets styreribber og fig. 3 shows in section the guide ribs of the protective grille and
fig. 4 shows in section the outer part of the protective grid fitted with a conductor ring.
I fig. In fig. 1 shows the hood 1 with openings 2 and 2' for the inflow of air in the upper part of the hood. The air is sucked through the chamber 3 by a fan 4 with paddle wheels, positioned concentrically with the central axis of the hood, and the air continues to flow out from the central chamber 5 and is heated at the same time by the heating element present therein, which for the sake of clarity is not shown in the figure. The rotation of the fan causes the heated air to have a spiral movement downwards and outwards. If no special devices were arranged for the desired control of the air flow, large amounts of the air would be pushed out against the walls of the drying hood and pass unused out of the hood. With a special design of a protective grid according to the invention, the air losses can be reduced to a large extent. The effect of the losses can vary with the drying chamber volume of the drying hood. Since the user, due to large hairstyles, needs as spacious a drying hood as possible, the difficulties in making full use of the hot air are increased. With the devices according to the invention, relatively comparable hoods have proven to be possible to increase the drying capacity by at least 42 - 60%. As is known, the space 5 around the fan is bounded downwards by a protective grid 6, but this is designed in such a way that the hot air, which has a screw-like downward-outward movement, is partly captured by inclined guide ribs 7, which run obliquely relative to the grid's radial direction. The inclined position has thus been chosen so that the ribs are essentially perpendicular to the air flow and maximally capture and deflect it so that the radial flow direction is reduced and the downward flow direction is increased. Between the edge part of the protective grid and the walls of the drying hood, a gap 8 is formed, where air that has passed past the ribs 7, due to the walls of the hood leaning towards the grid, is pressed down through the gap and by an inwardly curved guide ring 9 avDoes into the center of a drying chamber 10 which partially is fulfilled by the head 11 with hair to be dried.
