Abstract
Description
Known installations for inspecting waste water often use an underground concrete pit in which partitions are placed in order to be able to determine the amount of waste water passing per unit time from the height difference of the waste water between the partitions. Samples are periodically taken from the concrete pit and analyzed to determine the degree of contamination. It is experienced in practice as practical that visual inspection with the naked eye can also take place in the open pit.
Because the waste water does not move very much in the well, it has been found in practice that the samples taken often do not provide a true picture of the quality of the waste water.
Another known device makes use of a flow meter, which measures the flow rate of the waste water per unit time. Although some such devices are equipped with a sight glass, it can easily contaminate and visual inspection of the waste water stream is not well possible. Sampling is a laborious activity in such a closed system.
Furthermore, French Patent FR-A-464,467 discloses a tank for diluting faeces in the water, with a tank inlet conduit disposed at the top thereof.
The present invention provides an apparatus for measuring, inspecting and / or sampling waste water, comprising; - a flow-through tank provided with a detachable lid; - an inlet connection at the bottom of the flow-through tank for inlet of the wastewater; and - a discharge closure on the flow-through tank, which is arranged at a higher level than the inlet connection opposite; - the input connection having a diameter which is smaller than or equal to the discharge connection.
2 een schematisch zijaanzicht van de inrichting uit fig. l.Further features, advantages and details of the present invention will become apparent from the following description, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: Fig. 1 shows a schematic plan view of a preferred embodiment of the device according to the present invention; and Fig. 2 shows a schematic side view of the device of Fig. 1.
Afvalwater w (fig. Wastewater w (fig. 1, 2), which for instance comes from an industrial process, is supplied via a supply pipe 2 of an inspection device 1. A branch pipe 3 with a diameter d1 which is smaller than or equal to the diameter d0 is connected to the supply line 2. A flow meter 4 is included in the branch line 3. The branch pipe 3 opens near the bottom of a flow-through tank 5, preferably along the inner wall thereof. The storage tank 5 is provided with a preferably screw-on lid 6, so that visual inspection of the interior of the storage tank 5 can easily take place.
At a level higher than the input connection 7 to which the branch line 3 connects, a discharge connection 8 is arranged in the flow-through tank 5, to which a discharge line 9 with, for example, the same diameter dO as that of the supply line is connected. Preferably, the lid 6 is provided with an opening through which a hose or pipe 10 extends, so that samples can be taken from the contents of the storage tank by means of a suction installation 11.
Voorts is bij voorkeur een voelelement 12 in het inwendige van de doorstroomtank 5 geplaatst, voor het voelen van pH waarde, zuurgraad, temperatuur en/of troebelheid van het afvalwater in de doorstroomtank, welk voelelement is aangesloten op een meetinstallatie 13.Furthermore, a sensing element 12 is preferably placed in the interior of the flow-through tank 5, for sensing the pH value, acidity, temperature and / or turbidity of the waste water in the flow-through tank, which sensing element is connected to a measuring installation 13.
The supply line 2 is preferably provided with a detachable head cover 15, so that the supply line 2 can be unclogged and / or cleaned.
The shown and described preferred embodiment of the present invention allows visual inspection of waste water, while the device can be easily prefabricated, for example of plastic, so that installation can take place quickly and efficiently.
The flow-through tank 5 ensures a good mixing of the waste water, so that samples drawn from the interior thereof are representative of the quality of the waste water. Due to the smaller diameter of the branch pipe, a greater flow velocity upon entering the flow-through tank 5 is obtained, which improves the view. The flow meter allows measurements with an accuracy of less than 5%, which is required by an increasing number of government agencies.
The present invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiment shown and described; rather, the rights are defined by the following claims.
