Abstract
Description
Korte aanduiding: Voering voor een pijpbevestigingsbeugel.Short designation: Liner for a pipe mounting bracket.
The invention relates to a lining for a pipe mounting bracket, of the type consisting of a strip of flexible rubber or the like elastomeric material, which is provided on at least one of its longitudinal edges with an upright edge part, which is located at the front edge of the annular body of the pipe mounting bracket can bulge.
Voorbeelden van met dergelijke voeringen uitgeruste pijp-bevestigingsbeugels worden getoond in EP-A-0188649, EP-A-0387966 enhet Duitse Offenlegungsschrift 37 08 065.Such liners are generally used in cases in which the pipe or tube to be fixed, usually in a horizontal position, must be suspended more or less vibration-free or shock-free from a wall. Examples of pipe mounting brackets equipped with such liners are shown in EP-A-0188649, EP-A-0387966 and German Offenlegungsschrift 37 08 065.
The lining is usually provided with protrusions or ribs, which either hang against the inside of the (usually metal) pipe-bracket body (see EP-A-0387966) or against the surface of the pipe or tube to be hung (see German Offenlegungsschrift 34 39 418) will come to rest and can contribute to the vibration or shock absorbing capacity of the lining. The damping of any vibrations or shocks through the lining will of course take place as the tester becomes stronger, as the lining becomes less tightly clamped around the pipe or tube.
A special problem is now encountered in pipes or pipes to be hung on a wall in a vertical position, such as drop pipes to be hung on vertical walls of buildings for rainwater, for example. It is common practice to suspend such pipes at some distance from the wall in question with a pipe fixing bracket of the type described above, which is generally screwed to the free end of a threaded rod or the like protruding outside the supporting wall by means of a welded nut. The attachment must be such that the pipe cannot drop through the mounting bracket under the influence of its weight. Therefore, the mounting bracket is therefore clamped relatively tightly around the tube. The result is that the possible lining is compressed so strongly between the tube and the mounting bracket that the damping effect of the lining on (sound) vibrations occurring in the tube, for example caused by the rainwater passing through it, becomes insufficient. In this way, the sound associated with the water flowing out of the tube can easily penetrate through the tube mounting into the space bounded by the respective supporting wall.
The invention now offers a solution to this problem, which consists in that the liner is provided with projections directed outwards from the upright edge part.
When a fixing bracket equipped with a lining of this type is now used for fixing a vertical pipe or tube, the protrusions used according to the invention can face upwards and they can function as vibration-damping support for fixing around the pipe provided or to be fitted supporting edge or flange.
The supporting function and the spacing or guiding function of the mounting bracket are thus separated from each other, so that it is no longer necessary to clamp the bracket with lining firmly around the pipe.
In a preferred embodiment, two ribs running at a distance parallel to each other are used as protrusion.
The invention also relates to a combination of a pipe mounting bracket fitted with a liner in a just described embodiment and a tube body suspended therewith in a vertical position, and a tube body suspended therewith in a vertical position, the combination of which is characterized in that the liner is in a (virtually) stress-free state between the bracket body and the tubular body and that the tubular body with a supporting rim or flange fixedly disposed thereon rests on the projections above it on the upright edge part of the liner.
Further features and advantages of the invention are further elucidated below with reference to the drawing with two exemplary embodiments.
Fig. 1 shows a view in half and half in cross-sectional view of a wall-mounted pipe mounting bracket with liner according to the invention, together a pipe section carried immediately by it? Fig. 2 shows a variant of the embodiment according to Fig. 1 and Fig. 3 shows an enlarged cross-section of the lining.
In the drawing, 1 denotes a pipe mounting bracket of a generally known type. This fixing bracket generally has a metal annular clamping body 2, the flanged ends 3, 4 of which in the drawing can be contracted with the aid of a clamping screw 5 in order to clamp the brackets tightly or less tightly around a tube 6 to be suspended .
The annular clip body 2 often consists of two halves, which in the example shown hook together hingedly behind the tube 6. However, a second flange connection at that location is also possible.
A nut 7 is arranged on the outside of (one of the two parts of) the bracket body 2, for instance by welding, with the aid of which the bracket is screwed onto the end of a carrying rod 9 mounted in the supporting wall 8.
The pipe mounting bracket 1 is provided with a lining 10 extending along the inner circumferential surface of the bracket body. This lining, an enlarged cross-section of which is shown in Fig. 3, consists in known manner of a strip of flexible rubber or the like. This rubber strip engages with upright and inwardly directed longitudinal edge parts 10a and 10b, respectively, around the end edges of the bracket body 2 and is furthermore provided on its tube-facing side with circular ribs 10c when mounted.
In accordance with the invention, the liner 10 is additionally provided with projections 10d directed outwards from the upright edge parts 10a, which in the example shown are formed by two spaced apart ribs. The thickness of these ribs is substantially equal to that of the naturally bending, inwardly curved edge parts 10b, while the height of the ribs is on the order of twice the rib thickness.
Om een dergelijke losse omsluiting van de buis 6 te verzeke¬ren, kan tussen de flenzen 3 en 4 een vulring 11 worden aangebracht, zoals op zichzelf bekend is uit EP-A-0387966.Contrary to conventional practice, the mounting bracket 1 equipped with a lining of this type is only relatively loosely contracted with the tube 6 (for example made of plastic), ie insufficiently tight with the tube slipping through the bracket under influence of the tube weight. In principle there is hardly any contact between the ribs 10c and the tube 6. In order to ensure such a loose enclosure of the tube 6, a shim 11 can be fitted between the flanges 3 and 4, as is known per se from EP -A-0387966.
However, a suspension of the pipe, secured against sagging by the bracket, is ensured by making the ribs 10 facing upwards in use function as an annular support for a supporting edge or flange 12 fixedly arranged around the pipe 6.
Experiments have shown that with a (fall) tube suspended in the manner described above, a surprisingly good sound-damping effect of the lining according to the invention is exerted.
In feite is in fig. In the exemplary embodiment according to Fig. 1, the collar 2 is formed in one piece with the tube 6. In fact, Fig. 1 refers to a connecting sleeve with a molded-on supporting flange made of a plastic which is usual for this type of pipe. The flange 12 is formed on the transition between an upper sleeve part 6a intended for receiving an upper pipe section and a lower wedge part 6b intended for insertion in an underlying pipe section.
In the embodiment according to Fig. 2 there is a normal through-going drop tube, around which are clamped clamped loosely from the wall pipe fixation brackets 17 of known type, which function regularly in vertically spaced locations such as flange edge or collar 27. The bracket body 2 of such a mounting bracket 7 can, in terms of dimensions, correspond to that of the pipe mounting bracket 1. When clamping the mounting bracket 17 around the tube 67, however, no filling ring 11 is used. This second embodiment offers the great advantage that pipe to be hung, first with the brackets loosely surrounding the pipe and fixed to the wall in horizontal direction with respect to the supporting wall, and then the desired height can be adjusted, after which the brackets l7 are placed around the pipe and clamped at the last moment . It is therefore not necessary to accurately determine the attachment points in advance.
