Abstract

Prodn. in a form suitable for oral admin. is effected by adding 4-6 wt.% diazepam (I) to a homogeneous mixt. of dried medicinal herbs, homogeneously mixing, and introducing the mixt. into gelatin or polyvinyl alcohol capsules. The components are pref. mixed in a jet mill. The final mixt. may be tabletted instead of being encapsulated. Addn. of (I) produces a favourable synergistic effect, e.g. when the medicaments are used to treat rheumatic and arthritic disorders.

Process for the preparation of medicinal herb preparations as well as shaped preparations obtained by this process.

The invention relates to a process for the preparation of new preparations of medicinal herbs with a synergistic effect, as well as to preparations obtained according to this process.

% 5 In pharmacotherapy, for the past decades, besides allopathic, homeopathic preparations have also been used, the effectiveness of which is based on components of naturally occurring plants.

Many of the known phanerogams, in combination, have effects on pathological phenomena that are only empirically approximate, and the results of which are more favorable than when using the ingredients synthetically prepared in pure form.

An explanation for this has not yet been found in all cases.

Surprisingly, it has now been found that various compositions successfully used, inter alia, in the treatment of rheumatic and arthritic conditions, which underlie many somatic complaints, have a clear synergistic effect for the patient. show a favorable sense if a relatively small amount of diazepam (benzodiazepine) is added to the recipe (Formula sheet fig. I).

The method of preparing medicinal herb preparations which are brought into a form which can be administered orally is characterized according to the present invention in that the carefully homogeneously mixed dried medicinal herb preparation is blended with an amount of -6. wt. -% diazepam (benzodiazepine), again carefully mixing homogen and filling the resulting preparation into gelatin or polyvinyl alcohol capsules.

It has also been found possible to process the constituents after homogenization and mixing with diazepam.

It has been found that some formiririgen show pre-eminent good re-results.

The following preparation method was used for these preparations;

The herbs were each individually dried in a desiccator, air-dried in a mortar, finely ground, mixed intensively and homogeneously at the specified weight ratios, and finally, the specified amount of diazepam was added and mixed again.

Pain grinding and mixing could also be performed particularly effectively by micronizing in a jet mill.

In both cases, the product obtained was filled in gelatin capsules and alternatively pressed into compresses.

The dose is 3 capsules or packs of 50mg per day.

Optionally, a total daily dose of the preparations can be administered as a single administration of 100mg, preferably in the evenings.

The capsules and packs can be easily taken. No harmful side effects have been observed in animal experiments.

The preparations can also be successfully used in veterinary surgery.

1. Process for preparing preparations of medicinal herbs, which are brought into a form which can be administered orally, characterized in that an amount of * + - 6 wt. Is added to the carefully homogeneously mixed preparation of dried medicinal herbs.
