Abstract

The arrangement is for fitting a cover of knitted material around a compressible foam rubber cushion. The cushion is moved through a tube around which a length of tubular cover material is outwardly stretched and gathered in longitudinal direction, the end of this tubular cover being closed. As the cushion passes through the tube, it draws the material around itself and, on emerging from the tube, this material contracts behind it. The contracted portion is held at two points and stapled after which it is cut between these points.
