Abstract

The swivel joint is for use between the line and the sinker of a fishing rod. It has two swivel members with round eyes (1a,1b) and flat connecting portions (1c,1d) to disc-shaped bosses (1e,1f). The bosses form ball-points in spherical sockets (2a,2b) in a central portion. The design gives a much longer life than that conventionally used, incorporating a flattened wire end. A wide range of swivelling motion is possible, with rotation through 180 deg.
