Abstract

A turntable for a video record player which uses an air cushion. The table can support a flexible disc with the recorded information. It has a rotatable support element. The system is used for colour video programmes. The support element (1) has an annular shoulder (44) near the centre. The shoulder is higher than the remainder of the support element outside of the shoulder. There is a continuous hole (48) in the support element immediately outside the shoulder. There is also a radial groove in the surface of the support.
