Abstract

Connections between treads of a spiral staircase are made by interfitting tubular sleeves providing a requisite spacing between treads. Each sleeve has a spigot part at either end which acts as support for thread. Landings are formed by special connector spacers whilst the entire spiral staircase is secured by tension rods (12) passing through the sleeves, and locked with discs (17) and nut assemblies.
