Abstract

A signal generator is described which can be used in an instrument for measuring the concentration of an element that is present in a hydrocarbon cpd. e.g. sulphur, nickel chlorine and lead. The signal generator consists of a radioactive source, which is located approximately at the focal point of the target plate. There is a detector and a measuring reservoir through which the hydrocarbon is passed continuously. The covers of the reservoir are made from a material with a low absorption coefft. for radioactivity. The housing also contains a window with a low absorption coefft.
