Abstract

The picking machine is particularly for crops in pods from bushes, and has a toothed drum rotating on a spindle at right angles to the travel direction and with a guide for the pods picked, together with a further guide for the crop in front of the drum. There are a number of guide plates (7) extending forwards, so that each row of bushes passes between a pair of adjacent ones. The sides of the plates towards each other slope upwards and away from each other, becoming steadily larger from the leading end, while the distance between the lower edges of the guides becomes steadily smaller in the same direction.
