Abstract

The equipment separates solids of different specific gravity in a heavy fluid. It has a single inlet (2) for the solids and fluid to be separated, and to which there is connected a pipe (1) with one or more spiral turns (6). At the outlet end of the latter two or more separate outlets (8, 9) are connected. The end part of the spiral portion can have one or more lengthwise partitions, at right angles to the resultant force acting on the solids and dividing it into two or more sections, each connected to an outlet.
