Abstract

The prefabricated marking strip is for fixing to a road surface to indicate destinations, traffic lanes etc., and has reflectors for the light from headlamps. At regular intervals it has on the top surface protrusions, each incorporating one or more catseyes, and a support, positioning and protection structure for the catseyes, resistant to the forces exerted by vehicles travelling over it. The protrusions can be 3-15mm proud of the strip, and at intervals of between 50 and 500 times their height. The protrusions can have flat bases secured to the strip and sides sloping in the lengthwise direction of the latter.
