Abstract

The instrument is for drawing ellipses, having a component conrolling the pencil and guided in two directions at right angles to each other. One of these directions is determined by two adjustable crank mechamisms, and the other by a third such mechanism. The crankpins perform a straight movement in relation to the controlled component. The axes of the crankpins lie at the corners of a triangle enclosing the drawing board surface. The centres of the ellipses to be drawn can lie on the centre of gravity of the triangle determined by the crank mechanisms.
