Abstract

The movable work island comprises a floating body such as a pontoon and three or more legs sliding vertically in the body and locakable. Each leg has a rack, meshing with a pinion, and each pinion is coupled to a drive unit in guides on the leg and enclosed in the body. The pinions are coupled by torsion shafts to the drive unit, which can be fixed in the body. Directly above and below each housing there can be leg guides fixed to housing and/or body, allowing movement in the vertical direction only.
