Abstract

A plant may be tied to or allowed to twine itself around a stake formed by a tube of plastic material throught he centre of which a rod is pushed. The tube is 5 cm in dia., 28 cm long, green in colour and absorbent to water. The rod of wood or plastic is 12 mm in dia., and is thinned down to 7 mm dia. over a length of about 20 mm at one end, whilst at the other it has a 7 mm bore. When pushed into the tube, the rod is allowed to project a little distance for sticking into the soil, leaving a hole at the top so that if required the stake can be extended by a second or third.
