Abstract

The vacuum cleaner hose has two tube sections telescoping together to vary the length. Bayonet-type couplings between the tube sections secure them together in a number of different relative positions. One of the sections can have a row of lugs running in the lengthwise direction, while the other has one or more transverse grooves (13) joining onto a lengthwise one. Alternatively there can be a series of transverse grooves in one section, joined by a lengthwise one, while the other has a boss engaging in a selected groove. There can be a plastic pipe between the tube sections and fixed to one of them, this pipe having the coupling devices for one tube section.
