Abstract

The mechanism is for applying a self adhesive tape (25) around one or more stems of a bunch of cut flowers. It comprises a support table (45) for the objects and an arm (21) carrying a roll (24) of tape which arm can be swivelled (B) over at least 180 deg. about the table surface. It further comprises a cutter (34) which cuts (D) the tape after the arm (21) has been swivelled and, at the same time, presses the tape end still attached to the roll against an element (44) at the far end of the table thus securing it for the next operation.
