Abstract

A transparent shielding plate is removably mounted in a slit in a shielding tube surrounding the syringe and covers the marking scale which indicates the vol. of liq. dispensed from the syringe. Pref. a sleeve, esp. of plastics material, surrounds the shield and also comprises a slit giving a view onto the transparent, shield. Used for injecting a patient with radioactive material, where it is necessary for the syringe to be shielded but for the marking scale to be easily visible. The shielding plate. Pref. of lead glass, is removable and enables the remainder of the syringe to be disposed of after use, the lead glass plate being reused on a new syringe.
