Abstract

The digging and defoliating machine is for radishes and similar bulbous or root crops. It has a chassis travelling, pref. on wheels, over the field, and equipped with two transporter belts (9) sloping upwards and to the rear. These grip the leaves between their adjacent runs and pull them with the tubers upwards and rearwards out of the ground. Means for separating the leaves from the tubers are also included. The belts can be mounted in a frame pivoting in the chassis, and with a skid at the front by which it is supported on the ground, also guides (7) by which it is directed along the row of tubers to be lifted.
