Abstract

The double-skin light panel consists of a lower shell (2) and an upper shell (1) of transparent plastic, partic. glass fibre reinforced polyester. The shells are joined around their periphery, and a honeycomb reinforcement (3) is provided between them, whose cell walls (4) are at right angles to the shell surface. The reinforcement may consist of corrugated strips which are interconnected at the peaks and/or troughs of the corrugations. It may be joined by adhesive to at least one of the shells. This adhesion may be achieved by pressing the reinforcement into the material of the shell before this is fully set. The reinforcement may consist of plastic-impregnated paper.
