Abstract

The fitting is for connecting to an air pipe for ventilating or exhausting ship's tanks, having a plate with first and second openings and at one side of the plate a tubular section from one opening for connection to the air pipe, while connected to the other opening is a chamber, with a spherical float, through which fluid flows, the float shutting the opening off. The other side of the plate has an expansion chamber, to which both openings are connected. The dia. of the float chamber opening (2) is that (3) connected to the tubular section, and the two openings are connected to a curved expansion chamber (1) whose dia. over its whole length is that of the second opening (3). The fluid flow opening (4) of the chamber (8) containing the float (7) is roughly opposite the opening (2) connecting this chamber to the expansion chamber (1).
