Abstract

The rectangular packing comprises a sleeve open at both ends and made from a folded strip of material, and a box, pref. closed on all sides, accommodated in the sleeve. The box is made from two or more strips wrapped at right angles to each other, the wrapping axes both lying in a common plant at right angles to that of the sleeve. One at least of the strips can be of material absorbing shock loads in the direction perpendicular to its surface, typically corrugated paper with the corrugations running across it, and with a flat supporting sheet on one side. This side can be bent towards the wrapping axis.
