Abstract

A liquid flow speed and quantity measuring instrument which is based on the principle of the turbine. It consists of pistons, cylinders, drive rods, crank cases and a crankshaft. The liquid being measured is used to operate the crankshaft. Access between input and output pipes is provided via channels in the pistons, when the crankshaft is in the correct angular setting. There are two parallel cylinders horizontally mounted with pistons coupled to piston rods and then to the crankshaft which is common. The crank of the first piston is at right angles to the crank of the second piston. There are two channels in each piston. The first channel of the first piston controls the liquid in the feed pipe to the chamber on both sides of the second piston. The second channel controls the liquid to the discharge pipe.
