Abstract

An insulation for thermally treating material packed in containers has a treatment area which is under pressure when in use. An endless transporter carries the containers in holders. The transporter enters and leaves the treatment areas via. tubes. Along at least one wall of the tube are guides which are pressed by springs against the side of the holders and form a seal against the wall. Used in sterilising material in tubes. The containers can be transferred to and from the treatment areas without using columns of liquid to maintain the pressure. This reduces the height of the installation.
