Abstract

The scaffolding is built up of two or more parallel columns and planks detachably secured between them, the planks having vertical flanges. Each column (1) has a second surface (5) at right angles to the main one (4, 4'), and the locking devices for the planks are formed by openings (14) in their flanges (12) and lips (8) protruding from the main column surface but extending parallel to it for most of their length. These fit round the upper edges (15) of the openings, and each is joined to the column surface along a line inclined downwards towards the second surface. The upper edge of each opening is inclined downwards at the same angle. Lips and openings are so positioned that when the planks are in position their edges bear against the second surfaces of the columns.
