Abstract

The device is for use in a cowstall and is intended to retain litter on the standing while at the same time allowing any liquid to drain into the dung channel (19), and preventing the latter from becoming blocked with straw, etc. It consists of an inverted U section with one side (12) bent outwards (15) at right angles to form an apron which lies flat on the standing to which it is attached. The other leg (13) of the U is extended downwards (11) so that it lies flat against the edge of the standing (20) to which it is bolted. The side (13) is raised in parts to form channels (27) to carry any liquid, which has passed through elongated apertures (26) in the side (12), down into the dung channel (19).
