Abstract

The letter-box has a slot in the wall for insertion of letters and also a door for their removal. a hinged flap behind theslot normally shuts off access to the box via the latter, and its movement when opened is indicated by a signalling device. The latter comprises a moving indicator (8) behind a window (4) in or on the box wall. When the flap swings open (16), the indicator is moved from the rest to the active position, and remains in the latter irrespective of flap movement, being reset in the rest position by the opening of the door (7).
