Abstract

Clamping unit used for attaching a label or a plate to an object. Once attached, it will only be possible to remove the plate or label by a special tool. The label with an embedded electrical resonance circuit can then be attached to goods in a supermarket and can then be removed after payment at the check-out counter. The clamping unit consists of a box shaped housing (1) with an open bottom and the side walls of the bottom fitted with horizontal flanges (3, 4). The top part has a dome (5) which is divided into two chambers (7, 8) by a bulk-head (6). There is a spring loaded strip (10) running from the flange (4) and bent into a U-shape at a distance from the housing. There is a roller (22) in the main part of the housing which is operated by a steel claw (15). This is used to penetrate the article that is being labelled.
