Abstract

Synthetic material is recovered from used synthetic film by washing the comminuted film in several steps. The scrap film is kept in motion in the liquid and is kept at a distance from the bottom of the wash zone; it is removed from this level. During transfer from one wash step to the next, as much liquid as possible is removed; esp. by passing the wet scraps over a sieve conveyor belt. Residues, e.g. of fertilisers or animal feedstuffs, are thus removed from the bags, and esp. from the corners.
