Abstract

Arrangement provides a seal and a bearing for a prop shaft of a boat, one side of the sealed bearing being exposed to the water. A sleeve (14) in a resilient material surrounds the shaft and forms a bearing portion (18), which is accessible to the water, and a sealing portion (20) on the dry side of the bearing, which latter portion is capable of following radial movement imparted via the bearing portion. The bearing portion may have internal ribs (24) extending in axial direction and separated by recesses (22). The sealing portion may have one or more sealing lips (26) inclined inwards towards the bearing portion.
