Abstract
Nickel base alloy having a low coefft. of thermal expansion comprises 24-42% Cr, 8-22% Mo, 0.1-1.4% C, 0-0.8% B, the balance being Ni. The alloy is used for welding rod for hard facing, aprts for gas turbine engines, such as one piece wheels, turbine envelopes, crank cases, joints etc. and parts for use in the glass industry. The alloys have a specific combination of properties by having a low expansion coefft. together with high temp. strength, good oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance at high temps.
