Abstract

The packing for books(7) is of the type comprising protective paper wrapped around the books, and a support plate(4) in a stiff material such as cardboard. The paper is initially in the form of a flat tube(3) and the board (4) is inserted in an open end of the tube. After inserting the books, the pack is then wound up so that both board and paper are wrapped around the books. The lengths of board and tube may be about 60 to 150cm. and the central region of the paper tube may be provided with one or more transverse slots (6) through which the books can be inserted.
