Abstract

Surfaces are coated temporarily, for cleaning or protection, by spreading onto the surface a non-hardening synthetic material, or a soln. of the synthetic in a solvent which evaporates at room temp., and removing the layer after a period of time. Cleaning of surfaces is simpler than by washing, sand-blasting or other costly methods. Mechanical or chemical attack on the surface is avoided. Method may be used to protect surfaces of e.g. wood, stone or synthetic matl during storage or transport.
