Abstract

An arrangement for introducing a gas into a fluid comprises a reactor having one or more stages, and having a suction lead from its lowest point to a pump which serves to degasify the fluid as well as to circulate it along a line connecting to a gas injector assembled at the highest point of the reactor. In the lower zone of the reactor vessel, a gas separator has a foam vent with a choke valve reaching above the level of the liquid of one of the stages of the reactor, and is assembled centrally above the suction line feeding a centrifugal pump. This has a degasifying lead running from the pump rotor to a liquid separator with a gas vent and an injector feeding back along line to the reaction vessel, and the gas is fed in by injectors generating jets of gas and fluid, fixed vertically on top of the vessel with their outlets above the level of the fluid. The gas separator is an assembly of alternate guide discs and wedge-shaped guides with sluices, connected by internal and external spacers, whilst collectors join the internal spacers to a centrally located manifold feeding the suction pipe. The foam vent pipe stands on the top guide disc. Highest possible input of gas with the lowest energy consumption and a more homogeneous mixing of fine bubbles throughout the reactor is achieved.
