Abstract

A high frequency power converter driven by pulses from an oscillator. There is a switching chain for generating current pulses from a d c source using a transistor switch. This chain contains a high frequency choke coil which has two windings. One of the windings is in series with the switching chain and the other is used to bridge the d c source via a diode. A transistor driven by rectangular pulses is used for the switch. The high frequency generated in the oscillator (1) is controlled by a crystal. The pulses are fed to a pulse width modulator (2) where they are converted to rectangular pulses. These are fed to bistable circuits (3) to control the power transistor T1 and T2 via driven stages (6) and pulse transformer (7) using logic circuits (4, 5).
