Abstract

Heating device for maintaining animals, esp. pigs, at a predefined temp. consists of a floor plate contg. a heat source surrounded by an electrically insulating layer, and having a base layer of thermally insulating matl. The device has low energy consumption and is easily placed in position and removed. Heat is spread over the entire surface. The upper side of the floor-plate is provided with an anti-slip profile. The devide pref. consists of the following parts, from the top downwards: reinforced polyester, aluminium foil, an electrical heating wire enclosed in glass matl., a polyurethane layer, kraft paper, and reinforced polyester.
