Abstract

Harvester which is frame mounted on four wheels, has front mounted probe disc and beet top cutter provided with a transverse mounted screw conveyor (4) for lateral positioning of cut foliage in windrows. Slightly inclined above the digger/lifter element is a left driven scraper element (11) for removing adhering earth. Beets are then moved along a series of inclined transporter belts with carrier prongs (16). Belts which are inclined in a zigzag formation, have the top and intermediate belt actuated by hydraulic piston-cylinder units and connected for pivotal movement to adjust top belt for beet discharge into a storage container. Width of transporter belt is equal to lifting width of harvester and individual spacings between the various belts is adjustable. R.P.M. of scraper element is double that of first inclined transporter belt.
