Abstract

The stirrup consists of a flat plate, whose cruciform central portion is on a different level to the remaining four angled sections, which are at the same level as each other. Two or more of the angled parts on the same edge of the central portion can join onto portions for bending at right angles to them. The cruciform central portion can have strengthening ribs stamped out of it to the level of the remaining portions. A slot can be provided to the central portion to accommodate an adjusting screw. Lugs can be formed upwards from the remaining parts, acting as anchors for a plate inserted between them and the ceiling and hooking into engagement with them.
