Abstract

A solvent refining unit control system compares current and past earnings positions of the unit and controls the unit in accordance with such comparision, and other factors, to provide optimum yields of desired quality refined and extract oil, the other factors taken into account including a quality constant for the refined oil, the actual value of a refining parameter as computed from the quality constatn and sensed refining conditions, and limitations of the refining parameter as computed from one or more sense refining conditions.
