Abstract

Fluorinated hydrocarbons are prepd. by reacting a >=2C (cyclo)aliphatic hydrocarbon with HF in the presence of a catalyst comprising Bi salt impregnated gamma- or eta -Al2O3 which contains 0.1-20 wt.% Bi, 35-66 wt.% F, 34-42 wt.% Al and the remainder oxygen as in the parent patent, the catalyst being improved by impregnation with an Mn salt so that it contains 0.1-10, pref. 1-3 wt.% Mn.
